Online collaboration woes

A friend and I Dj together and we have started collaborating on tracks together but we are hitting a roadblock. We can’t find any time together for production. We are trying to do collaboration remotely via drop box but we are hitting some pitfalls like:

  1. Not having the same VST’s
  2. Samples not being available even though we contain the file on Ableton export.

Anybody else have these issues and have any recommendations on best practices for online collaboration.

Well, you could bounce things to audio.

You could also just exchange lists or have a LOT of VSTs.

For number two, use collect all and save, thats how me and my mate do it,

VSTs, your just gona have to bite the bullet and get common ones between you.

Freeze tracks, or re-record them as samples. Collect all and save.
