Opening for another artist? (help)

I’m a DJ, and I may or may not have just gotten booked to open for Mike Posner and another local group. I’ve been to several rap/hip hop concerts, but I’m just looking for pointers on what I should do as an opener. Any basic rules or ideas for me?

Biggest pointer I can give is DO NOT PLAY ANYTHING THAT THE HEADLINERS ARE GOING TO PLAY. You’ll piss people off if you do and your career may go down after that.
