well when i started with cdjs i bought 2 american audio radius 1000’s, both lasers broke within 4 months, got them repaired, broke less than a year later
bought 2 cdj 800 mk2 second hand about a yeah ago and they havent even skipped a beat.
its worth the money to go pioneer
hmm.. im liking all of the input. im not Dj’ing clubs anytime soon. but i feel that just dj’ing with traktor, seems like a huge crutch. either i get Cdj’s or i get a nicer controller that acts more like Cdj’s but this store by my house has pretty much every current pioneer cdj, Denon Cdj’s, and American Audio Radius 3000.
what is a decent price i can expect for a used set of Denon s3700’s or s1200’s
i got a pair denon 3500s back in 2008 as my first setup. they work great. you can get a used pair for $500-600.
hmm .. for 3700s, maybe $1300 for a used set? …
My entry was with CDJ-200, i was way to happy with them, only reason that i sold them was that i needed money and i was moving to other country. And all I wanted was to change mixer or get effector, i had DJM-300, wanted more FX.
I picked up a pair of Denon DN-S700 they are limited compared to the 1200/3700 but they are tough and work great. I paid less than 400$ for the pair.

just use your vsm like a pair of cdjs? surely it wont be much different to those shitty low end pioneers.
I just got a cdj-350 and a cdj-400 both for very good prices…the 400’s jog wheel is noticeably better and has effects. But i really like the 300 as well…if it had effects built in and i could get them for $100-150 less than a 400 id say no question it is the move…but i will be getting another 400 shortly.
I have 400s. And for the most part they are great. With that being said the most annoying thing on them is the screen being so small. It takes forever to read a track off an USB and you might get portions cut off.
Besides that I love them. They work easily as good as any other cdjs. I mean it has all the functions of any other cdjs, cd playback, mp3 playback, HID capabilities, loops, effects, etc. For mixing they really really work great. I think people compare the jogwheels and this and that all the time, but really i’m not touching the jogs all that often when mixing, just nudging here and there to beat match, its no different then any other cdj.
That being said eventually I’d like to upgrade to 900s or 2000s cause its like have a BMW, Audi, Mercedes. 350, 400, 800, 1000s are like like mid cost cars to me, they work great do everything I need, but just not as nice as 900/2000.
Besides if I was going to spend my money on anything i’d spend it on a dope mixer. Way more important.

yes i have. I used 900s and 2000s at the clubs I DJ at. The rest all have 1000s. That being said, for my own set up I don’t need all the bells and whistle. I can mix a set perfectly fine with my 400s. No issues whatsoever. I didn’t want to spend 4000 dollars on just cdjs when buying it for myself. I left that to the clubs. That being said I’ll eventually upgrade, but cdj 400s are excellent transition decks to wait for better decks. Everyone who has used mine love them.
2000s are great they really are, but I don’t NEED 2000s to djs with all formats. where as 400s really do everything at an economical price.
The only grip I have is the screen size really besides that I don’t have any issues at all. Besides gear at every club is so screwed up you have to know how to play with whatever.

i found a pair of Denon s3000’s at a store by my house.
they never sold them so they have had them since they shipped out. in atleast '08.
they asked if i would be interested in both for $400. any opinions on this?
I’ve been using Denon DN-S1200’s for the past 3 years now and have loved using them. They are very well built in my opinion and feel like they will last a very long time. From my experience, I would say a lot of the gear from Denon will be reliable and exactly what you’re looking for in terms of entry level gear.
