Nice!! Soccer is the only organized sport I ever played in school. Personally I can’t wait for the Tour de France to start. Wonder of this will be the year they figure out what miracle drug Lance is on?
when’s the next “world series” of ice hockey?
NZ is in the world cup for the first time since 1982! we’ll get dicked in the first game but good effort lads. believe it or not there 4x as many football players as rugby players here ay.
The problem I have with these “epic” events is ads like this and what they force on the athletes. When they get too big they play to not lose as opposed to playing to win, and the games turn to shite. But with multi million dollar contracts and egos running around, they are not willing to stick their necks out.
The ad is incredible though, Rooney the pikey, absolutely brilliant!
World Cup 2010 is going to be awesome.
You people that don’t like it are plain dumb.
Go to a bar that sponsors it in your city and pick your girl by country.
Brazil, Argentina, Italy, etc. Gostasia !!!
Yeah i agree totally with that Phil but… when the football starts, all the crap just disappears and the football does all the talking.
Football fans are pretty good at ignoring the commerciality of sport the second that the referees whistle goes and the first ball is kicked.
Unfortunately the World Cup clashes with Glastonbury Festival.
England are due to play Slovenia in their final group game of the World Cup at 3pm (BST) on June 23 – the same day the festival opens to the public.
4 years ago i watched a game on the Pyramid Stage screens with 160,000 other people. It was amazing despite England getting knocked out.
Then of course there is the other World Cup at Glasto.
The ultimate Glastonbury Forum eFestivals has a mini tournament after the Festival has closed.
