OT : Anyone playing Call of Duty : Black Ops?

My son bought it for me for Christmas, I understand it got trounced in reviews but from the 10 mins I tried yesterday I am liking it.

Itā€™s not as good as MW2 if you play online in my opinion! Give me the Intervention and a throwing knife any day.

Im still playing MW2 even though I do have BlackOps.

I enjoy Black Ops. I think I am the only person that thought COD4 online was more fun than MW2.

hmmm. I loved COD4. I hated World at War. Then MW2 came out, best cod ever made. now black ops and iā€™m a bit let down by it.

MW2 is really the only game I play on my sexbox, still, think I can get some fun from Black Ops.

it reminds me of Half Life on line, back in the day. (Iā€™ve only played 10 mins though, as I said)

so, my mom went to toys r us to get my little brothers christmas presents because video games were buy one get one half off. so i wnt with her to make sure she didnt buy anything bad. so we got epic mickey and black ops on wii.

ive gotten a few people really pissed off by saying that. and its all true.

My coworker has a Wii because he has kids. His wife let him get the Wii gun and Black Ops. I think that is hilarious.

the gun only makes it worse. its easier to eve the nunchuck and wiimote side by side.

IMO cod4 was the best multiplayer game ever. I enjoy black ops espessialy the wager matches.

Imo the BEST shooting game ever that required the most skill was / is Gears of War. It has the highest learning curve, and if Gears of War 2 didnā€™t have fucking gigantic lag issues it would be the best shooter by far - hands down.

I played Black Ops for 4 days, prestiged, and sold it. The game is way too easy, so I got bored of it pretty quickly. Moved back to Halo: Reach :stuck_out_tongue:

Buy One, Get One Free @ Blockbuster (YMMV):

If you have a Blockbuster close, take a look for a cart hidden somewhere in the middle of the massive impulse ā€œYou saw it on TVā€ section.

They are pulling all the extra copies, previously played games and selling them buy one get one free ($14.99 or more)

I have a large volume store close and they had a good selection.

At the end of December, they should be determine the first 72 stores to close by Jan 1st, and then more by April 2011, as they regroup/sellout to billionaire investors in April.

Blockbuster plans to close 182 stores by April

MW2 was just dire. It totally jumped the shark with all the dual wield crap and completely unbalanced gameplay. Black Ops goes a long way towards fixing those issues. And the single player is quite good too. Personally, I get extremely frustrated with the complete lack of teamwork in the game. Battlefield 2 had it just right. Each side had up to four squad leaders that coordinated their teams, and could be a spawn point too. Above them was a commander, who could give orders to the squads and order strikes and UAVs.

Hardcore mode goes some way towards encouraging teamwork but it is still flawed.

Rainbow Six: Raven Shield is easily the best shooter ever. I played that game for three years.

I agree, I didnā€™t like it as much as MW2. But since then Iā€™ve moved 100% PC gaming and donā€™t play FPS any more (Fallout, SCII, or Minecraft (Firetruck yea)). Iā€™ve hardly played games at all recently though, so maybe my taste is bad.
