Need to stop smoking in my house as of recently, which has seriously hampered my Controllerism practice, etc. I think us smokers like the nicotine while being creative, and having to stop, go outside, etc is a pain, and breaks up the flow.
This has led me to try electronic cigs. I have one ordered and on the way after much research, and I am actually excited to try this out. I have read a lot of posts from ex smokers who say they didn’t plan on quitting real cigs, but ended up quitting after getting an e-cig.
Anyone here use them? And if so, what is your take on these things?
I ordered one just so I could quit and it just didn’t do it. The warmth just isn’t there. The smoke is also very thin, but the taste is there. IDK, it works for some and not for others. Unfortunately I’m the latter. I ended up giving it away.
Had one and thought it was quite good, though one night I left it charging and the next morning when I came down I could smell burning! The top had melted off the e-cigarette and scorched the book it was sitting on!! So I gave up the fake cigarettes too!!I always meant to mail the company but never got round to it!!
I’ve got a few for when I’m out.
I tend to mix n match 901, 510 and Tornado parts, for best results. Not tried the new wick or reservoir attys yet, I’m gonna pick some up next time I need some spares tho as that’s the weak link imo topping them up all the time.
Red Bull and Ruyan4 are my fav flavours.
i have a 510 im slowly weening myself off analogs .. i have the refillable kind and catridge, tried both vg and pg based .. its really up to your taste … the vapor is different than the smoke vapor so it takes a while to get used to… i really enjoy the blu cig atomizer cartidges, their menthol flavor is yummy
Ha analoges funny,a mate used to call them mechanical! " would you like a cigarette?.. mechanical or electrical? " the first time he asked me that question I’d never even heard of an electrical one !
I did get to try a couple of puffs at a local store and was impressed enough to look into e cigs. The flavor was menthol though which I don’t like, but it was very close to smoking.
I decided on the Bloog MaxxFusion because it has rave reviews, and is very close in size to a real cig. I’m trying to make the transition as smooth as possible. Lol.
ive been vaping for almost 2 years. i love vaping more than i ever did smoking. you couldnt give me a lifetime supply of cigs now. id just throw them away.
a few general rules.
the more your ecig looks like a cigarette, the less satisfying its going to be. its just a fact of technology. you cant get a battery worth a damn that is that small. you also wont be able to put that much juice in a cart that small.
dont buy blu
chinese dekang juice tastes like butthole (dont ask how i know this, its a secret)
pink spot vapors, eliquidplanet and e-liquidemporium have the best juice known to man.
this is what ill be vaping with in less than a month. best vaping experience ive ever had the pleasure of using (with variable wattage being a close second, but only because the technology isnt quite there yet).
if it hasnt arrived yet and is in transit, call the vendor and send it back if you can. pcc’s are a pain in the ass. i had one on my volcano i started with. trust me, you want a battery thats going to last.
the first challenge is the search for a consistent performing vape experience. as soon as you start using your ecig, that battery is discharging, naturally because you are supplying power to the atomizer. as the power output of the battery falls off, it doesnt have as good of performance (starts losing flavor throughout the day, starts to get harsh tasting on your mouth and throat), and vapor production falls way off.). you want a big battery.
as a minimum, the ecig i reccomend based on my experience and hundreds of dollars spent on pv’s i would completely reccomend the joyetech ego as a fantastic “first ecig”.
thats 60 bucks pretty much everywhere online.
2 huge batteries (one will get you through an 8 hour shift at work before it starts falling off), some carts, a couple cones, and a couple attys. its a 510 connection which is my personal favorite atomizer. really performs well.
DONT GET THE EGO-T. it sucks. was a great idea, but cartomizers perform much better, perform consistently (the ego-t is erratic as hell, one vape is awesome, the next tastes like butthole and has no vapor for no reason, then its great again, then bad. every puff is a diceroll).
get some low resistance 510 attys, a couple drip tips, and buy some really good juice.
me i like fruit, dessert, drink flavors most. but if you are looking for something that tastes just like a cig, get this…
let me be as clear as i can about this…
vaping is not a quit smoking method
vaping is something you can do instead of smoking.
its better than smoking in every way. its as good as good junk food, without any of the calories.
i heart vaping. its second only to sex as far as im concerned. theres nothing quite like vaping bananas foster after dinner instead of dessert. all of the taste, none of the calories, and it helps digest.
vaping is NOT a quit smoking method. although some people use it for that.
vaping will not kill you, vaping will not give you cancer, theres absolutely no carcenogens involved.
since most people find the one atty they like and stick with it, its a set once and forget thing for the most part. like me, im all about the ce-2 clearomizer (which is whats inside my map tank i posted above.
once set, its just once to vape. thats all you need to remember at that point. i take my ego to work, so really, the pro vari will be what i use on weekends and evenings.
and it looks like a lightsaber. damn, i should have posted that on may the 4th…
I didn’t get the PCC with my kit as I am not planning on using the PV constantly. I have read alot of posts similar to yours about the cig size pvs. I have also read a few others that are happy with the newer models, except for battery life as always with smaller units. Since it’s on the way I’ll start with it and see how it goes.
I’m sure your advice on this subject is well researched and tested by your experiences, and is greatly appreciated! If I like it enough, I’ll invest in a better set up as per your suggestions.
I’ve thought about getting one for a while, particularly for use while DJing (don’t want to get ash on my gear and you can’t smoke in bars in spain any more!). xtianw puts forward a strong argument. I just worry that if I started on that, that isn’t bad for you, I’d start doing it all the time and get even more addicted to nicotine!
I suppose self control is the answer
What exactly do you do, just toke on it for 5 mins when you feel like a cigarette?
