OT : Biggest BS Ever

This is such BS:

NEW Ford Mustang V6 Gets 31 MPG at 300+ HP:

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/04/2011-ford-mustang-v6-rated-31-mpg-highway-most-efficient-300-h/

I have a 2008 Honda Fit V4 117 HP. When I bought it the window sticker stated 31 MPH CITY/34 MPG HiGHWAY and I average 27 MPG. The best I ever got was 31 MPG on a road trip straight highway at 70 MPH.

We should be able to issue a class action law suit on this crap.

not as BS as GM’s commercials in which they say “we paid off all our bail out money 5 years ahead of time”

Yeahhh Hahaha they TECHNICALLY paid back what they owe, and now the US is the proud owner of way too many shares of the company, their hope was that when GM recuperated (If it does fully) they would be able to sell the shares and make a profit what a load of shhhhh

I get 17MPG on my 2009 Jeep Wrangler… It burrrrnssssss!!

hahaha, I think my uncle gets about 11 on his Jeep Willie… granted its restored from its 1944 condition, has a corvette engine in it, and tops out at 40 mph hahaha.

Not to mention , it looks like shit .

On the other hand, the new Dodge Challenger is bad ass

my father in-law grabbed one (challenger) of the first off the line, just before production stopped for a bit there. Thing is a gas hound.
I drive a 2003 crysler intrpid SE and only spend 30$ a week in gas travel to and from school/work and the grocery / beer store on fridays, not to bad there

AMEN!

Though I wouldn’t mind a Camaro 2010:

Once upon a time the Mustang was a beautiful car. Elegant and a boys wet dream.
Now it looks like a fucking Sherman Tank.
What is it with these big lifeless muscle cars.

The British motor industry has almost disappeared and from what ive read the American motor industry is churning out cars made from cheap thin steal with plastic everywhere. The back end of the latest Mustang is mainly plastic.
Sad times for both countries.

This is a really beautiful car and along with the AC Cobra the only car that looks good with stripes (of course with the original Mini the greatest car ever made).

I know what you mean Karlos, I love this corvette, much rather have this over the 2010

My 08 focus ses had 24 city and 35 hwy on the sticker and that’s exacly what I get. Only exception is on long trips I actually get about 40-45.

Ford has been pushing mpg for a few years now. Hell the eu fiesta gets over 50

i agree, but we’d never win. they’d cry every little environmental difference down to the barometric pressure differences in the areas you were driving in, and the cleanliness of the nozzle you filled your tank with as to why it’s not performing up to their claims. i read about a study that showed NONE of the car manufacturers advertised a solid MPG rating except maybe toyota..and they’ve got some problems of their own (which are a bit more serious than a couple MPGs off).

just waiting for the day when we all travel through tubes:

amirite?

I’m still slightly stunned that US cars are so massively inefficient - I’ve got a Honda Civic Type S (only 160bhp I think?) that is fairly good fun and does 35mpg, and that’s pretty poor in the UK these days (though at the mo petrol is £1.20 a litre)

I suppose with petrol being so cheap over there, there’s no incentive to change …

I loved my '93 Jeep Wrangler. Only reason I got rid of it was because it was a 4 banger and couldn’t get past itself on my commute.

The old Jeep:

My current Chrysler 300 gets about 22 around town, 25 highway. And that highway is fully loaded with big Adult guys going on a roadtrip to Key West and back and being comfortable the entire time.

The 300:

My wife drives a Hyundai Accent and it gets great gas mileage, but that’s what we bought it for.

Different cars for different reasons, but as long as you are happy with it that’s all that matters.

… and the 300 looks pretty fly too. (And yes, those are both actual pictures of my own vehicles.)

gas guzzlers… ouch

Tell me about it. I drive a 66 bronco that gets 10 mpg, running premium. grrr.
