This is my fixie. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My fixie is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
My fixie, without me, is useless. Without my fixie, I am useless. I must ride my fixie true. I must go faster than my enemy who is trying to outdistance me. I must outdistance him before he outdistances me. I will…
My fixie and myself know that what counts in this war is not the miles we ride, the noise of the noise of angry car drivers yelling at us, nor the skitmarks we leave on the streets. We know that it is the final destination that count. We will arrive…
My fixie is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its crankset. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against damage. I will keep my fixie clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will…
Before God, I swear this creed. My fixie and myself are the defenders of my streets. We are the masters of my enemy. We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until the streets are ours and there is no single car left, but peace!
i was riding downhill and freeride for some years. owned a nice chacka fully and a steppenwolf hardtail with a marzzochi shiver upside down.
now i´m riding a 1982 diamant track frame (gdr cycle company) for some years. i will never ever give away riding fixed gear in the city
Transition Bottlerocket. Freeride / DH / Slopestyle killer. I live on Vancouver Island and ride the North Shore and Whistler a fair bit each year as well as travel to BC’s interior now and then for some new trails.
I don’t think it would be possible for me to list the bikes I’ve had in the 34 years that I’ve been riding/racing. I hung up the racing stuff a about five years ago after getting really burned out though. I still ride my single speed road bike and mountain bike some, but not six days a week like I used to.
Anybody follow the Tour de France? It starts Saturday
I don’t imagine your racing season is very long in Wisconsin. There used to be a guy from somewhere up that way that used to come down here in the winter and ride with us. Then he went back and kicked ass in the summer.
been through a bunch of mountain bikes over the years, but i think my 05 stumpjumper is probably the most fun out of all of them for the riding that i do these days. threw on a pike, shorter stem, and wide bars and it feels like a mini-dh bike. coincidentally, it’s also the bike that my friends want to borrow all the time.
this shot from a few years back is the only one i’ve got of it right now.
Here is my stairway… I used to work in a bike shop, did freeride for a while, then bmx and still bmx, have done that for 10 years, now I race cross bikes and road bikes, I’m a cat 3 road and Cat 3 cross.
