So my iMac was acting a little funny… The took my 250gb HD and replaced it with a new 500gb HD all for free of course. Then I thought I saw a dead pixel in the screen… Now I am being shipped a brand new 27" iMac quad-core…
So the $119 I paid for has basically already paid off big time, upgrading me to the newest system possible.
Just thought I would share with you all another reason why Apple is the BEST!!!
I know this still bodes true - but sometimes when you buy refurbished, they forget to take out the diagnostic RAM, and they always put the maximum amount possible in a unit when testing it out, I’ve heard numerous stories where people order a MacBook Pro and they forgot to take it back out.
Must say i got a my my new mac book yesterday and my old one broke which i had for 4 years and it was bought second hand of my mate. Dont know whats wrong with it but it was a veteran. had fell so many times and still nothing wrong with it until st pattys day think the vibrations of the blasting speakers for 14 hours must have kind of loosened something connected to the screen and it only works now and then and if i move it the screen moves even still dont have warrenty on it so cant bring it to them still trying to get if fixed and would never buy anything but mac now
just a heads up for people thinking about buying a mac..
GET APPLECARE. yes it is more money up front (not a breaking-the-bank amount), but if anything goes wrong (that’s not your fault, or can be disguised to look like it wasn’t), you’ll get this kind of coverage and support. really, it’s more than worth the money.
had a 1st gen imac back in 2005 and some of them shipped with faulty logic boards, after about a year or so it just died. without applecare, would have cost me ~$600
Same thing happened to my old MacBook Pro. It was almost 3 years old and under AppleCare. So i took it in, and they just replaced the screen including the whole top piece which encases the screen too. I figured it was from the vibration of the bass etc constantly. But the AppleCare had about 75 days left on it, so i bought a new MacBook Pro and gave my girl my old one. About a week after I give it to her the power button sank in cause I think she pressed it to hard not knowing you are supposed to just barely touch it. Anyways I tak it in to Apple (still under AppleCare for like 70days at that time) and they replace the whole bottom piece where the button is, and this includes the trackpad w/ button as well. So my girl got a pretty sweet working machine out of it all, and its 3 years old now and still going really strong. She only uses it for the internet and Office type stuff, but it works great for her!
