yeah the serato guys were tweeting about it after it happened, i guess the airspace is closed by the military presently because their air traffic control services are completely down at this point.
Yeah, been following since this morning. Hoping the best for all those involved–64 dead thus far 
just as i was hearing about the earthquakes i was logging in to the forums and seen this tread …

Wow grim news! This is going to be really tough for the area considering this is the second time in 6 months.
So far most of my friends with friends/family down in ChCh have made contact with them so thats good to see.
Auckland and all other major areas will be fine.

Smaller than the 7.1 a few months ago but very shallow, so the central city is pretty much a bomb site right now, totally closed off. A lot of buildings that were weak from the first one just toppled straight away from this one. Lets hope they can pull some more survivors out of those buildings asap.
Dang…this sucks. It doesnt help that NZ is right on the Aussie Plate and Pacific Plate.
