[OT] INDY 500 (anyone else watching?)

[OT] INDY 500 (anyone else watching?)

Any predictions for a winner?..

(no Danica bashing please…)

i will take Servia…

NASCAR is the most boring motor sport I’ve ever seen in my life. How the fuck do people enjoy watching cars go around a circle, a triangle or an oval for 500 Laps? I just don’t understand…

Got to say this: Monaco was a thrilling race, as it ever is, and Vettel won again!

^^ what he said.

saw it on at the bar, got mad and perplexed by thought of possibly how exciting that could be.

ummm…wasn’t nascar…indy car…

i like formula one also…

it’s not just about going round in circles…it’s a 500 mile race…man’s quest to go faster…fuel management, tires…a last lap wreck of the leader…

bah…nevermind…

go back to playing your electro house…now there is something i really don’t understand…

Beer.

but… but… but…, that was my explanation for football…

 there IS no explanation (even beer - ESPECIALLY Bud) for football, basketball, baseball and NASCAR

this is one of these things thats fun for people directly involved.

i dont get the spectator aspect of it though.

same with F1, but theres a little more going on, so its not overly boring. i could watch that.

That last lap was quite the wreck! Pleasant race indeed though for the rest.

And for those who don’t seem to understand it, don’t post. It does nothing but tell us that you are ignorant and have a lack of understanding behind the sport.

F1 is great to watch if you get into it, especially these days now there’s more overtaking. My girlfriend got pretty into it cos I always watch, even came to the spanish grand prix with me last week. Monaco was horribly frustrating for me as a Mclaren fan!

Don’t really understand the appeal of racing in a circle for 500 miles, but I’m sure people like it. Hell, there are people who watch lawn bowls on the TV and I know which of the 2 I’d find more interesting.

No I’m not. Actually I do. I have tolerance and sense of humour too.

NASCAR was probably the funnest thing ive ever experienced in my life.

not that i was even REMOTELY interested in what was actually going on but it was a fantastic excuse to get drunk and act like a redneck… same thing with preakness (but thats more lets make fun of stupid lax bros)

so im a +1 to beer as a reason for NASCAR

I used to live in indiana tho (like 30 miles north of indianapolis) and i used to be able to heard the F1 cars from my house. in person it was the most awesome thing to experience.

And to be fair, that post tells us that you’re pretty intolerant and don’t have much of a sense of humour. No one holds it against you that you like NASCAR, but people are entitled to make jokes.

On the subject of beer, in Melbourne I went to every day of a cricket test match between australia and india. I reckon 99% of the world’s population would find that horribly boring, but the combination of beer and drunken aussies made it brilliant fun

i love F1 for the variety of tracks…i do think indy car races too many ovals…i think its about a 50 50 split between road courses and ovals…

i cant find a youtube clip but:

“this track is different because it not only has left turns, but also RIGHT turns as well”

couldn’t find the clip either, but I did accidentally discover that Gran Turismo 5 has the top gear test track. Awesome.

and semi related, this is a helluva cool idea.

that was pretty cool…
