News HEADLINES today - ‘Lady GaGa has 9 million followers on Twitter’. Is this not a sad indictment of the world today?
eminem has a million more facebook likes than her > . > hes at like 32mil and shes at like 31 mil
You know, I’m actually more surprised that a pop star’s Twitter following is considered an indictment of anything.
That’s to say that why wouldn’t a world-famous pop star not have that many followers.
Heard a really enlightening piece on NPR about the disparity between Twitter followers/following a couple of weeks ago. It was enlightening in that nothing on the internet should surprise anyone in 2011.

A lot of people like her music. It’s heavily marketed and reaches the ears of a lot of people. I’m not sure what you mean by indictment on the world. I think you’re going to have to explain a little more.
