I dont think you fully understand the great impact the research done in this study provides.

Not only do we now see correlation between makeup use, self image, and why these types of women post on their Facebook page at http://facebook.com so frequently [see fig. 1.1]

But we now understand that just like everyone these women have feelings. They don’t want to be part of the “in the kitchen” stereotype. “females identify more strongly with their image and appearance and use Facebook to compete for attention” (Michael A. Stefanone Women who post lots of photos of themselves on Facebook value appearance, need attention, study finds) Women use these attention seeking tactics to prove their lack of presence in the cucina, as they say in Italy.

These pictures represent time spent:

  • getting their hair did
  • in the bathroom “getting ready”
  • transport
  • at location(s)
  • transport home
  • moving photos to computer
  • uploading to http://facebook.com
  • making a post
  • replying to compliments/ insults

in conclusion, these feminists want to be “different”. They want to show defiance AND “get some”.
