Hello DJTT - I’m sorry for the selfish thread, but wanted a few opinions on my DJ name before I get everything finalized. I am finishing up with my website and have a few radio station promo posters going up soon along with a possible label released CD. I want to lock my name in now for the future but can’t decide if it’s better to use BodegaBrad or Bodega Brad? (1 word or 2) Again, sorry for the silly poll, but your feedback will be much appreciated. Happy 2010 mates.
Nah…you’re not alone…there are 2 others..lol. I’ve actually had it as one word for a while on some sites(myspace, djlist, etc), but see that people get mixed results when searching for me on google or other search engines. Ex.: If you type in BodegaBrad, you get results for me, but as 2 words..nada. I’m at a cross-road now with my radio show’s posters/sites using 2 words and my previous sites using 1. I figure that if I can nip it in the bud now, I can continue on with one standard spelling. I never gave much thought to one little space, but see it can make a difference…haha.
gave my voice too. I voted for BodegaBrad, as its one word-defining a person. Bodega Brad on the other hand… idk… sounds to me as Bodega is a description (adjective) of Brad. Like handsome Bob or tingletangle Mel. Hard to explain.
Great way to describe it! Wow, I didn’t really think of it that way. Maybe I’ll just change it to Handsome Brad instead…haha. Thanks for the input. More to contemplate.
Edit: Thinking more, i’m always in a bodega getting a beer or sandwich and used to live above one(how I got the name), so it could be describing me too…lol.
Voted:
Go with number 2 Brad.
It wont get lost in translation as much as the first. Its easier for someone to get right when putting your name in print etc if they are just told it over the phone.
People in promotions dont listen hahaha if i dont tell them “ITS KARLOS WITH A K NOT A C” they will simply assume and use a ‘C’. My guess is people will assume your name is 2 words anyway and you will find it printed like that so roll with it before it annoys you.
I was in a Bodega in Lanzarote last week. It was nice.
