im actually gonna upgrade. i have a mac mini as sorta a test machine. but i wont upgrade my production machine for a month or so.
I’m probably gonna wait 6 months. Just to make sure everything will work properly. Can never be sure with new software.
Our business runs on mac, and our strategy is this:
Apple has a weekly release cycle for bugs (roughly) and this is a behind-the-scenes release…SL is more noted for what is actually missing that what is included in it.
Imagine this: Logic will be processing your reverb with the GPU of your video card (which in a limited sense is 40x faster than your CPU)…
That’s SOOPER MOJO Bad-ASSED!

P.s. Planning on buying the family-box-set which is 5 OS upgrades, 5 iLife '09’s and 5 iLife’s…239$
(MS go eat my …er, uh, broken cable collection!)
yes please. probably as soon as 10.6.1 comes out ![]()
im getting it friday if not saturday and testing it on my mac mini
I was going to, but I heared there were going to be some troubles with the 3rd party drivers.
So I will get the upgrade, but will not do it immediately.
i will try to get a copy this friday and then i will throw it on my spare macbook and play around with it. but i first have to wait for 10.6.1 and all my key apps to verify snow leopard support before i will make the jump on my main machine.
I only have a macbook. I suppose then I should buy it but wait to install. I really don’t want to introduce any havoc, everything has been rock solid for a while now.

Thanks Karlos!
I ain’t touching it until 10.6.4
I would be hesitant, new updates can really fuck with drivers of any/all audio equipment. The cheaper your equipment is, the longer it will take your company to update your driver. I couldn’t use my Numark DJ I/O for a few months after Leopard update came out, and wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing happened with Snow Leopard. If you do upgrade and experience problems PLEASE warn everyone else. In addition to being DJTT fanboys, a lot of us are probably Mac fanboys too, but if we know there are problems we could hold off on upgrading.
Giving all the various developers a few weeks to try everything out and maybe crack a point release out would be smart.
As a developer, I am most concerned about install scripts believe it or not–they are the most OS-major-version-sensitive things in the bundle.

It works fine for me ![]()

Well i finally bought Leopard (not Snow) (ive been on Tiger forever) so i aint going out in the Snow for a while until others have found the problems for me.
Tiger is to be phased out so i guess ive gotta get updated.
Tiger is dead , Long live Tiger teehee
Those of you out there that install and run cracked software might want to hold off on this upgrade for now. OS 10.6 now has Fully integrated PACE Anti-Piracy technology
If you want to continue running your software It would be wise to wait untill “work-arounds” are created. Just a Heads up.
that makes me really mad.
