Was spinnig yesterday at an electro fidget party. Averrage age was 17-18. Well i talked to the dj who was spinning right before me. We were talking about my equipment blablabla. I told that i’m using an audio8 and he asked me what i is. I showed it to him and explained what it does and who it works traktor. Afte we finished he unpacked his laptop and went to the stage. He started and really fucked up his first transition. And the next and the next and so on. Everybody stopped dancing and a big part of the crowd left them floor. I
Went up to the booth to check if he had any software problems. And there comes the funny part. I looked over his sholder and what i saw gave me a big ironic smile. This guy was using traktor SCRATCH pro. Panda said to himself: whut tsp and no clue what an audio 8 is?
I also saw what caused the problem that no transition worked out: his deck a was the master deck and sync on the whole time.
Well after the party was finished i got to speak to him and he explained tO me that he was using a torrented tsP wich he jus dled rIght before the party, cause he was sick of using mixxx. “this program looks more fancy than mixxx.”
That made me a bit mad and i told him that i spent a lot of time, effort and money to get where i’m now. He didn’t get my point and left.
Luckily the crowd came back to the dancefloor when my budy eric and i began to spin
Meh, still better than the self labeled DJs in my Area, which would not even know what a mixer is (God how i hate the people that use an itunes playlist and call themselves a DJ)
The problem with guys like that is that what they are doing confirms the prejudices that club owners have against digital DJing. Man, I’d like to kick that guy in the face. Although If I had the chance, I wouldn’t. I’d mock him, though.
There comes a point in a mans life when he has to make certain decisions that will have an impact on the rest of his life. Bitches or glitches, the choice is yours.
What a tool, There is a similar DJ in the local scene that likes to ask loads of questions, boasts he is the almighty local DJ. But never takes the answers people give him and downloads everything illegally software wise.
Mixxx is buggy and clumsy. I love the fact that it exists and it has come a long way since I first tried it but it’s no where near as good as the fanboys make out.
Linux support is always awesome though. If traktor and diablo 2 ran on linux I could uninstall windows entirely.
