[OT] What I Have Learned In 1000 Posts

Some of the important lessons I’ve learned from the DJTT University of Life - how about yours (serious or otherwise) ?

  • Ean is American for Ian
  • Karlos is not related to HRM ER ll and doesn’t drive the new Mini
  • b3n is certifiably insane
  • a Traktor is not a farming implement
  • formatting your posts is regarded as strange
  • lots of new abbreviations (OT, LOL, ROFL, gif…)
  • it rains a lot where JesNZ lives
  • Tekki and Bento go away a lot
  • FEP is in the construction business
  • Padi has way too much hair
  • Ean has a bad haircut
  • a Mac is not a hamburger and is actually quite a good thing
  • latency is quite important
  • Monster USB cables are over-rated
  • an S4 isn’t the latest Audi
  • lots of bandwidth is your friend

Congrats again!

It most certainly is not. I did a Tractor course once and discovered that an ‘implement’ is an unpowered tractor attachment and a machine is a powered one. And German for machine is maschine. Which NI also make. So are they actually agricultural suppliers? Confusing.

I am? No one told me. There was me thinking I was working in marketing. That’s probably why my last employee review went so horribly.

Just to clarify and teach you one more thing…it’s not just their USB cables. Everything they make is crap.

Not over-rated.

Crap.

Garbage.

Worse than store-brand.

Bad materials.

Bad construction.

And their cute little “look at me” plugs can’t be repaired, in contrast to every other (audio) cable manufacturer.

That company survives on nothing but branding. They’re the grey goose of cables.

And to teach one more thing…grey goose is objectively crap vodka.

More lessons from the DJTT University of Life

  • JesC is not Stephen King’s creation ‘Pennywise’
  • Chris Jennings is not a photographer and can not photosynthesize
  • b3n is still insane
  • I have got no idea what NHL, NBA, or NFL are
  • Ideally one should own 2 Traktors, because you can then sync them
  • Ean’s fine motor skills are so good that he can turn 2 knobs at the same time
  • If NASA shuts down we should not panic, because something called a MBP will still be able to bring the shuttle home
  • JesNZ didn’t have a hammer to play with when he was young

I’m enjoying these, keep going. And just to clarify, i don’t work in construction, I don’t work in a supermarket. I do work in marketing, but I will admit I am just a mere pawn.

Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay so you’re constructive but not in construction and in marketing but don’t work in a market. Add ‘I have no idea what FEP is or does’ to my list :slight_smile:. Johannesburg is great - open invitation to my humble abode if you ever this way again. The beer is in the fridge and the pizza comes with ANYTHING you wish. Except pineapple.
