My friends have a house that has parties on a semi-regular basis and our old speakers just died. The amp is still good but I’m not sure what the specs are, I’ll check soon. Being college kids, we are on a tiny budget. Is there any way we could get speakers for a small dance party (it’s a mid sized living room - probably 50-100 people) for under $200 (maybe $250 tops)?
Last week it was running off a crappy shelf system.
we had some peavys at my frat house back at school. so if you already got a decent amp you might be able to walk away with some dope 15’ monitors for around 300.
For anyone who was wondering, yes that is indeed a leaked image of the new Traktor, complete with 4 wheel drive and shipping with a free pair of foot pedals.
In that price range…check out craigslist or local ebay auctions. Any “name brand” full range top with a 12" or 15" woofer will do the job.
I recommend that you prefer the 12" loaded top…and add a sub at some point in the future. You will lose 1-2dB of output, probably gain 5-ish Hz of low end extension, and have a speaker than is smaller, lighter, and easier to place in the room or hang from the ceiling.
