Phew. Almost done.

Phew. Almost done.

I have finished saving up for all my stuff. Now there are only a few things to decide before I actually buy everything. First of all, here is a list of what I am purchasing for my setup:

-Numark Stealth Control
-2 Midi Fighter Classics
-Numark STEREO|iO
-Beats By Dr.Dre Pros
-JBL PRX618S-XLF Speaker Set

Seems like a pretty good setup to me. If there is a soundcard in the same price range as this one please tell me.

Audio Dj 2?

i would go with that dude…you will suffer otherwise…

true… but it doesnt look like enough outputs to me

second hand audio dj 4/6? then you’ve always got the option of dvs for the future

huh? they’re both 2 Channel output soundcards.

Get the Audio 2 DJ, it’s 4 out just like the DJ I/O, but smaller and generally considered to be better quality.

Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones don’t cut it for DJing. For one thing, the cable doesn’t lock in, but also they have no hinge built in for one ear monitoring. ‘Beats Audio’ or whatever magic they say they have essentially means they turned up the bass. Basically all the beats are good for is trying to look badass. Get some Sennheisers or Pioneers. You don’t wanna look like Pauly D.

Also I googled that speaker set and it looks like it’s just a pair of subwoofers… That’s not going to do you any good.

this again.

You better get some more knowledge than jump at a gig n get embarrassed if your quality aint good. learn to walk before you run, look before you leap.

beats.. they have hinges im preety sure.. i mean these:

what u think im talking about is probably these:

on the contrary, thanks for the info bout the speakers. definitely gonna talk to the guy at guitar center bout what i should buy instead.

I don’t mean hinges like that, I mean ones designed so you can wear one ear and fold the other round the back, like this:

And anyway, the other points still stand. They’re not amazing headphones, and they’re not great for DJing, but because Dr. Dre says they’re great half the world has bought them.

idk ive got em with me right now… my frend lent me them… they seem pretty amazing to me anyway. But im considering the numark red waves or those pioneers in the first pic u got.

Pioneer and sennheiser make great DJ headphones. Beats make most EDM and pop music sound loud (and pretty good) because they boost the bass frequencies, but that’s not helpful for mixing. You want an accurate representation of what the music actually sounds like.

And they’ll break.

You gotta be trollin. Every other day you’re posting up another rediculous setup.

As FEP said, they boost certain frequencies to make EDM/Hip-Hop sound better. This is not what you want when they track you’re cueing on the headphones sounds great, but when you mix it in, it sounds like crap on the PA.

Also the cans probably sound great on a ipod in a quiet room, but when you have a large PA cranking a completely different track, and you’re trying to listen to another one in your headphones, you may have trouble hearing your cue properly without bursting your eardrums as the Dr Dre phones arent designed as DJ headphones, therefore mimimal isolation.

Just my two cents (actually, I probably can’t talk as I use studio cans!)

For the price your going to pay for the Beats headphones I would suggest HD25-II they are much better imo. Beats are produced by Monster who make those insanely priced HDMI and other cables. I can tell you now they are not concerned with giving there consumers the most for their money. Don’t get me wrong the Beats are decent headphones but way overpriced for what you could get.

am i misreading you, or are you saying that Audio 2 DJ gives 4 outputs? i thought it only had 2 out for dual track mixing. you cant push 4 decks with that card can you?

Stereo requires 2 outs per channel, so no, you can’t externally mix 4 decks with an A2DJ (unless you go mono).

The A2DJ has 2 stereo outputs, the I/O has 4 RCA jacks, the possibilities remains the same.

4 out = 4 x mono = 2 x stereo.

Another point about the audio2 is that it has a more rugged build. While your sound card may not be bashed about much, it does look cooler :stuck_out_tongue:

Note that the audio 2 has the same number of outputs as the io thingy. You could run 4 decks with 2 audio 2s. Or 2 ios, Or 1 io and 1 audio 2. Magic.

Beats by dre are shit. Never buy anything marketed by anyone cool. Always buy stuff promoted by balding middle aged uncomfortable sound engineers who sit about and talk about frequency response when they should be trying to stop their wife running off with the pool boy. Those loser are the guys you trust.

Hahaha the man has a point!
