PHREAKBASS’s evolving setup

Hey guys I just got alot of new gear lately and I wanted to show my setup
I havent gotten a soundcard yet and i would like one of you to recommend one for me
This is the full room

Then here is my launchpad and twister

Here is my griffin dock thingy

Here is one of my presonys Eris E8s (amazing by the way)

Here is my problem

I have the speakers hooked up directly to my computer without a soundcard.
I also have this vintage old super expensive neuman mic That I really would like to use and i need a soundcard for that since its a condernser and it needs phantom power

PLZZ help me find the right audio interface…
Thx

Cool setup.

If you need soundcard for production, I can recommend NI Komplete Audio 6 (you can also use it for DJing in a pinch). Good sound quality and connectivity for the price: 4 balanced analog inputs and outputs (TRS), 2-channel digital I/O (coaxial), midi interface, phantom power for two microphones… And that awesome big volume knob. Some people have had troubles with drivers and firmware though, but myself I have the latest version of both (I think) and works real smooth. Of course, if you need more I/O, then KA6 won’t do.

what is coaxial digital I/o otherwise it sounds like an awesome soundcard

Digital I/O is exactly what it says on the tin: digital input and output for audio. Coaxial means that connectors and leads are coaxial (basicly same as RCA). You don’t have to use digital I/O at all: I haven’t used the digital connections at all, but they are nice to have there “just in case”

so its rca input basicly

No, it’s digital; that’s completely different thatn basic (analog) RCA. Connectors are same as RCA, but audio is digital. Usual RCA inputs are analog. Digital is stream of 1s and 0s, analog is continuous range of voltage varying in time. Main point of digital is that signal doesn’t deterioriate in leads; analog is susceptible to interference, which causes noise in signal.

To use digital inputs, you must have digital output on the other device.

Also, practical difference comes from the fact that RCA (analog signal) needs two leads (connectors), one for each stereo channel, while digital can do with one. This is a bit confusing way of explaining things, because RCA is in fact a coaxial connector type, but usually RCA means also analog input/output… Digital I/O can use RCA connectors, but it doesn’t work if you plug in something from “conventional” (analog) RCA.

ok thanks man
