There knock offs, hence why you must purchase them in bulk of at least 10. It allows street vendors or even ebay sellers to sell them as the real deal. Shameless, really fucking shameless. I almost bought a pair of HDJ-1000’s from Ebay for 60$ because I was really hard up for cash, until I found out that anything under 100$ at least is gonna be a garbage “replica”.
Buy the real deal haha do not get a fake… iv had the HDJ 2000’s since they were released and they are hands down the best headphones i have ever had and theyre still going strong

yes, they are absolutely amazing and no doubt they worth every buck … but at the moment my budget only allows me to go for the hdj 500 … not sure if its worth it …
they are no 2000’s but still pretty good headphones for the price.
i guess you’re right … i’ve doing some “research” and it seems like … yes .. they’re some pretty good headphones for the price …but i find this 2 faults in a review

yep.. i think i’ll go for the 500… but the “no folding” keeps me hanging… i’ve got a custom made trolley for carrying the s4 … and there isn’t too much space available for a non-folding headphones !!!
HD25s are great cans and they don’t fold either 
I would choose sound quality over folding any time.
I bought a pair of HDJ 500’s. Their sound quality is great for the price of $99.00. Highly recommend them if you want a decent pair of headphones but don’t want to shell out $300 for the 2000’s.
Hm, I’m thinking of buying the HDJ500 to replace the HDJ2000 on less important things, like walking the street with style and doing grocery shopping but hot giggety, how I do love my HDJ2000.
Magnesium frame is unbreakable, it serves as a little PA when needed, looks good, sounds amazing (saying that as a FOH/Monitor engineer).
The only minor is that they don’t isolate that well.
