Play improvisation/live/on the fly : what i need as gear?

after many year to mix , i would like to creat/play/improvisation in live (in the middle on my mix gigs for exemple)
I have already Traktor and one Kontrol S2.
What kind of gear i need to that?

Yeah, why not. or other software.
But i think, when i read on internet, a lot of people use Ableton for live no?
