Please help a girl out

Hi guys,

I hope that someone is able to help me. My bf is a Dj, and I really want to surprise him with some good-stuff vinyls.
But I am lost in this world haha, so I am counting on your guys advice.

A little bit about him. He really likes techno from the 80’s and the underground scene, that could be e.g. Berghain. Last we went to something called Grisen/grisom idn in Berlin in the middle of nowhere.
He has played with djs like: Steve Rachmad, Abdulla Rashim, Deetron, Vince Watson, Pacou, Pär Grindvik, Shawn Rudiman, Basic Soul Unit, John Heckle, Northern Structures, Udolph, Urv, Trulz & Robin, Roland Lifjell, O/E, Ida Nerbø..
Maybe they are too local…

What vinyls should I be looking for? Your advice is really appreciated :slight_smile: Thank you so much!!

Why don’t you just check the records that he’s already got, and search for others by the same artist/label/genre, etc…?

Or you could just buy Energy Flash by Joey Beltram.

Or the first couple of Prodigy albums on vinyl might be nice, if he doesn’t already have them.

You better ask him what titles he likes and intends to buy, like you want to hear them or something. Take a note and get them as a surprise. Otherwise you can put him in a position to “like” what he doesn’t if you buy something out of his taste.

Does he have a discogs account? If so, go through his wantlist.

If he doesnt have a discogs account, sugggest him to start one.
