hey everyone, I am new to the forum so forgive me if i am in the wrong section.
I am looking for a very specific controller and cant seem to find one that fits my needs.
I am using SSL and Video SL. basically i would like to find a controller that can control the 2 “video effects” on each channel in videoSL. The controls are 1. select effect 2. dry/wet knob and 3. engage. the ideal setup for this would be an endless rotary for selecting the effect, a regular rotary (like a filter knob) for the dry/wet and a regular button for engage.
there are 2 effects per side, so thats 4 total. and then you can control the vider transition effect, so I would want one more setup..
that would be 5 of these setups (6 would make it uniform, so I am cool with that or more…)
This is basically what a VFX-1 is, but i would need 2 of them daisy-chained together. i would love it to be the size of X1/F1,VFX1, or even midifighterPRO, etc…
I have tried the X1 and there is too much going on there for me. I also tried the nanokontrol, which was perfect interms of size but no endless rotarys…
can anyone brainstorm and help me find something like this?? I’d even pay for a custom one!!!
(but I am not gonna pay livid almost$600 for thier modular setup!!!)
sorry for the HORRIBLE sketch, but this is what I am thinking:
the nocturn is really flakey with its mapping and serato. many people on serato forums have tried and ditched that controller - but that is basiacally the perfect size and form factor for me..
that custom page you sent is really expensive. i could put together a livid builder for about $550 - but that is more than I am willing to spend. i dont mind dropping 250-3 on this.. not $600…
Not exactly the configuration you are looking for but 4 controls each side, buttons corresponding and a center encoder which might work perfectly for transition FX control.
Is your korg a nanokontrol v1 or v2? I think the nanokontrol v2 has three buttons, one slider and one knob, nine times across the board. you could have up and down scroll buttons, an on and off button, a knob or slider for wet dry, and a knob or slider for whatever else, for up to nine different channels. I believe there are a few other transport controls or something as well?
nanoKontrol2 only has 8 channel strips, not nine. It does have a fader, pot, and 3 buttons for each strip…plus a separate section for “global” transport control…but it only has 8 strips…the original (v1) nanoKontrol had 9 strips, but I found its performance flaky so I returned it.
