potentiometer slider with 5 connections instead of 3

(title shoud be “potentiometer slider with 6 connections instead of 3”)

Hey guys, i wanted to make a controller by using a gamepad like in this vid.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Y6ZqgT4Uk0 , i want to add 2 of these http://www.conrad.nl/ce/nl/product/442162/Schuifpotmeter/SHOP_AREA_17440&promotionareaSearchDetail=005 slider pots at the place of the analog sticks, but they have 6 connectionpins instead of 3, is it still possible to connect them. and if so how?

Ah i did some more research and found out that it’s a stereo potmeter. can i still connect 1 stereo potmeter with only 3 connections instead of all 6 and will it still work then?

Yes it will work fine in mono.

Hi

If you connect only 3 it will work as mono ! mono means potential change at 3 connections is same as other 3. and Stereo means Potential change at both 3 connections pairs is different. You can connect 3 connections to one one stick and other 3 connections to another stick then it would work in stereo !
