Does anyone know where to get the same pot-meters as in the vci?
(stereo? 10k? )I came accross some on the internet, but don’t know what
exact specs. it must have.
There is also a difference between the gain pot-meter and the eq pot-meters.
The gain goes smoothly from begin 'till the end,the eq-meters have a 'rest" point
in the middle
Thanks for reply Midifidler,
But, I’m not so good in tech-english,
can you explain; indented pots, linear as opposed to logarithmic pots.
what do they do?
On the all the pots in the vci is text printed; 10 3B
The pots are from Alps and for what I found out the 10 stands for 10K
and the (Taper)3B stands for Logarithmic. So all the pots must be logaritmic in the vci.
But is this neccesary for EQ control? Will Linear also be good enough?
I could not find an exact match on the Alps site so it seems Vestax let them custom made.
Alps has also pots with the text 15A and that also is logarithmic (Red it in another Forum).
So If I would replace A Gain pot on my vci it could be this one (only
the shaft is 2,5mm shorter, and the text says 10k Taper15A);

From Alps; 1B stands for linear
3B stands for logarithmic
15A stands for logarithmic
see picture for curve behaviour of the pots
I don’t know why in the vci are the ones with the 3B taper(They are at the beginning and the end logarithmic, and in the middle linear)
maybe it has to do something to do with the behaviour of midi commands.
Somebody?
I ordered linear pots, and the code on the pots are the same as in the vestax pots.
The codes do not correspond with the codes in the product presentation.
