Powered USB hubs for connecting an audio interface to an RPi
Yo. So my aunt just handed me a Raspberry Pi, naturally the first thing that came into my head was “I gotta get xwax running on this”.
This means I need to connect a big power hungry USB audio interface to it- and my interface doesn’t have a port to connect a power supply to. I figure the only solution is a powered USB hub, something I know nothing about. Can anyone offer me some tips or recommend me a powered USB hub that would be suitable for use with an audio interface?
I think the main advantage is that any USB 1.0/1.1 devices will usually bottleneck a typical single-TT hub, whereas the multi-TT hub does not get bottlenecked.
Yerp. Really quite want to get a DJM750 but sadly it’s broken with Linux and ALSA at the moment. Hopefully those clever Mixxx/xwax/ALSA chaps will get it working soon though.
edit: The audio interface is broken that is. The midi is class compliant and thus works flawlessly.
