Problem mapping my Twister

Problem mapping my Twister

Hello

I’m trying to make a FX mapping on my Twister with all the FX I like. Some “stolen”, some homemade.

The problem is that I can’t get all 3 FX Buttons to turn On att the same time when pressing a Knob on Twister in FX Group Mode. It’s only the third FX Button that turns On. The other 2 FX Buttons only turns On when I press the same Knob again. What am I doing wrong?

The configuration looks like this:

Unit On = Button Direct: 1
FX Unit Mode Selector = Button Direct: Group
Button 1 = Button Direct: 1
Button 2 = Button Direct: 2
Button 3 = Button Direct: 3
Effect 1 Selector = Button Direct: Peak Filter
Effect 2 Selector = Button Direct: Mullholland Drive
Effect 3 Selector = Button Direct: Tape Delay

All assigned to one and the same Knob Press on Twister

If you change all the Effects Selectors to something else than the ones I stated and turn all the buttons Off and then press the Knob you will se what I mean.

Hey Raffe,

Any chance to check your mapping? I have some ideas but I wouldn’t want to throw anything on blind.
Let me know!

The mapping is exact the one above, but I can save it for you if you’d like

Please do save the file and attach it in your reply

Sorry about the delay, but here’s the files. I tried to do a propper mapping like I want it to be.

Everything is in Bank A

You gotta press button A1 (top left corner) to make Deck A active (Red led), A4 (top right corner) and so on.

Only B1 and B2 are mapped to FXs. Here you see that when I switch from B1 to B2 it’s not working propper.

Thanks in advance

Welcome back!

Don’t worry for this bit of delay! I thought you might have found your way but anyways here’s what I’ve imported with your TSI.

First of all, no effect settings were exported so I couldn’t hear what exactly this macro effects should sound like in your setup - or maybe I did? Did you use DJTT effect order?

Knob B1: (M2=1_toggle)

  • Encoder is set for 3Fh mode
  • pushing a knob loads Beatslicer+92LFO+Delay (Unit 1)
  • pushing a knob engages FX1+FX2+FX3 another press properly disengages them
  • pushing a knob sets the correct parameter for those three FX slots
  • twisting a knob modulates the parameter as it should

Knob B2: (M2=2_toggle)

  • Encoder is set for standard CC
  • pushing a knob loads Beatmasher+PeakFilter+Gater (Unit 1)
  • pushing a knob engages FX1+FX2+FX3 another press doesn’t properly disengages them
  • pushing a knob sets the correct parameter for those three FX slots
  • twisting a knob doesn’t do anything (I assume that you didn’t map those jet?)

Change log:
-Added two more lines for the Modifier 2 [B1: if M2=2 then M2=1 ; B2: if M2=1 then M2=2] -The RGB LED under the knobs now properly displays the active Preset.
-Added the FX Store Preset commands for both B1 and B2. This command will save the FX Snapshot so you don’t need to worry about the effect states and have proper instant gratification control when switching between active Knobs.
-Removed the modifier states form the Effect Selectors and push button parameter mappings. Previously this controls would work only if the M2=0 and we don’t want this to happen if/when the other knob is already engaged because the new preset couldn’t be loaded instantly.
-Reset some of Button ON commands that were unnecessary for this functionality.

Let me know how it looks at your end. I’d be glad to give any further support with your mapping.

It works! Thank you very much!

So if I want to add a new effects chain to B3, I just “copy” B2?

Yup! Just use the same modifier concept and you’re set.
Keep us posted!

Is there a simple way to transfer all the settings from Deck A to Deck B? I don’t want to use Device Target and I really hope I don’t have to redo all the mapping to Deck B.

I imported another copy of the mapping and changed everything to Deck B, but then I had 2 copies working at the same time.

Fortunately there is a way.
You can click on the “edit” tab in the Device Menu and then navigate to the “duplicate” and click on it. This will create another copy of the existing mapping device. Now all you need to do is to target specific device to the correct deck.

Don’t forget that it is important to keep all your deck-related commands set to “Device Target” before duplicating.

Thanks! All worked but “FX Unit X On”, it became on for both decks.

There is a special command you can use to address Deck Focus assignment.
“Deck FX On” also under the mixer tab.

Thank you

Glad to help
