Problem mapping Traktor ‘Select Up/Down (Browser.List)’ to Maschine MK1 Plz Help!!

Thanks ahead of time, did some searching and couldnt find anything on this..

Ok I’m not super awesome at mapping, hopefully there is an easy answer for this and I’m just missing something..

was working on a custom edit of Beaubrytes ‘remix fighter’ - I’m using the A6 with my mixer, 1 turntable and the maschine to control everything - so I wanted to add in some extra controls, so far so good with everything except…

mapping the browser select up/down control. whenever I map the command to scroll up and down on the main browser page to any of the knobs, it doesn’t scroll smoothly. meaning, turning the knob to do what should move up or down 1 track, it jumps 50 or so tracks… so as soon as I start to turn the knob, the selected track jumps way up and down in the main browser

it’s totally not usable like this, I tried mapping to different knobs on the maschine, same problem

I tried starting a new mapping, same problem

I tried adjusting all the different options under ‘mapping details’ and ‘fader / knob’ i.e. type of controller, interaction mode etc etc, same problem

I mapped to function out to buttons, and it works, but definitely is not the same as having a nice knob to scroll through the list

writing this I realize maybe this command is meant for jog wheels or push encoders? not endless non-push encoders like the maschine has?

any ideas are welcome ! help please!! thanks!!!

I think the problem might be your encoder mode settings. Try both 3Fh and 7Fh - one of this settings should work.

I think, but that’s quite a random thought that you can change the type of control for Maschine within the controller editor (external program) anyway if you need to.

ok so i dorked out on this last night, and pretty much almost fixed the problem,

you are both right I didnt have the correct controller editor settings,

only thing is with this setting it only scrolls down and not up

traktor preferences
controller type: encoder
interaction type : relative

and

controller editor settings
type: control change
mode: relative

any idea how to fix this? I tried a bunch of different settting combos and nothing worked, except this setting:

traktor preferences
controller type:Fader/Knob
interaction mode:smiley:irect
invert:ticked

and

controller editor preferences
type:control change
mode:relative (offset)
step: -1

it works almost perfectly, scrolling down as intended (clockwise) only when you scroll up (counter-clockwise) it scrolls 3 selections at a time.. not ideal but close enough I guess..
