Problem with DJTT Dicer Mapping for Traktor

Problem with DJTT Dicer Mapping for Traktor

I don’t seem to be able get the DJTT Dicer mapping to work in Traktor Scratch Pro (1.2.7)

I’ve followed the steps to import the TSI file. Dicer then shows up in the drop down menus for Device, In-Port & Out-Port, but the Assignment Table is blank.

Any ideas? I’m sure I’ve probably missed out something simple. :open_mouth:

I just got my dicers and the same thing is happening. Anyone know how to fix this, or is there a problem with the DJTT mapping?

first back up all of your maps

then use the big import button that over writes everything to import djtt’s mapping

WARNING this will mess with your gui, so uncheck that

then using the smaller hidden little import button, bring in all your other mappings.

thats what made it work for me

I tried doing that, as well as importing through “add new device.” It shows up as DJTT Dicer mapping but the whole assignment table is blank.

yeah, there are several pages in the one mapping. i think one was blank.

did you open preferences and use the import button (thats what you need to do, or did you go to preferences> controller manager> add (the wrong way)

also make sure you have the ins and outs right on all the mappings. and maybe you do need to import the gui too.

before you do it though, make it so you have all four effects units available. i think that might solve your problem.

I used the big import button that clears out everything, 4 effects units and gui and no matter what it won’t load anything but the name. I’m just going to keep working on my own version - I’ll share it when I’m finished.

did you double check the ins and outs? other than that i dont know what to do.

well, good luck on your mapping.

If you load a different mapping is there anything in the assignment table? Have you tried to download the mapping again?

Ins and outs are set correctly. I’ve played around with a few things and it seems that I can load any TSI that I’ve created but anything I download from anywhere else shows up blank. I’m about halfway through my own dicer mapping though, so I think I’ll just keep plugging away at it.

Having some issue’s myself with the Djtt dicer setup I loaded the TSI file but it does not seem to work right the only thing that works is the cue point settings and everything else acts crazy and even causing audio noises when pressing dicer buttons. ???

are you using 4 effects units? or 2? you need 4 for the map to work properly

edit: also make sure you dont have any other mappings for the dicer loaded

i am also having these same issue, as mentioned above with the dicers i just got.

Mrblenderson that would be cool if you shared your mapping

There is multiple thread regarding this topic. I’m not sure which one to post in, I am having the same issues using pro. How do you remove any dicer mappings that i have tried loading only to no success. I am concerned. Some of the extra once might be conflicting.

I was definately trying it with only 2 effects loaded so I will need to add 2 more effects racks to the gui?
As for the previous dicers mappings if you run the set up wizard will this clear out any old mappings?
Sorry brand new Traktor user so I am full of questions right now. Thanks in advance guys!!

If you click edit on the controller manager page when the blank mapping is selected there will be a delete option. Also is everybody using the latest (1.2.7) version of traktor?

yeah, somewhere in the preferences you can turn on all 4 effects units

and like photojojo said, you can delete the extras.

Once I loaded the 4 fx racks and chained them in the preferences everything is working fine now! Does anyone know what the 2 top buttons are for on the loop or second buttons (green) seems like you can move the loop around in the track? I was wondering if anyone knew what midi command they are so I can delete them and remap those 2 buttons for something else like loading the decks & expanding the browser.

just make a new generic midi. choose a random command and hit the button to see the note

pro tip: the when you hold the layer buttons (like when you delete a cue) you are not using a shift key
you are litterally activating another layer of notes!

example: hit learn and press the first button, lets call this ch16 f
now hold a layer button down and hit the first button, now its ch 5 f

*note: these arnt the actual notes

" you are not using a shift key " So if I understand this correctly with the second & third layers on this set up I can program 8 more controls per side just by holding down the layer button. This would be ideal for loading decks I am thinking of using the second layer for loading the decks So layer + button 1 would toggle browser then buttons 1 & 2 for scrolling up & down then layer + button 2 to load deck A and so on. Thanks Theory 28!!!

no problem. you should have plenty of buttons. but if you dont mind a small headache, you can make button 5 on layer 3 a shift key. now you have 15 more buttons per dicer

protip: make each dicer have an independent shift key
