I have been using LE at home w/ my VCI-100SE; while the mapping wasnt 1 to 1 yet, it was easy enough to use while i waited to upgrade. I paid for the upgrade yesterday, dl the installer, etc. but when i open traktor, its still LE. i emailed NI’s “technical support” (which was a pia btw) and havent gotten a response yet. im sure its something silly, but its pretty frustrating right now. on top of that, i am supposed to spin today-i figured, no problem, ill just use LE today, and figure out my upgrade problem later. problem #2-LE isnt recognizing my VCI anymore, and i cant figure out how to reassign it in preferences. HELP!
The installer does not update the desktop/dock icons (pc or mac) so you are still starting the old LE build.
Simply goto the Native Instruments/Traktor folder in Applications and use that start icon (exe) it should be dated with todays date (or the date of the update).
Replace the old icons with a copy/alias of the new one.
NI technical support sends out an auto response first. This may have gone into Junk Mail.
Also dont work the weekends AFAIK
I think its a Mac thing, seems ok on PC but as im 90% Mac im not sure.
Problem with 1.2.6 is that it installs into a different folder so its caught many many people out so whether its only a Mac thing or Traktor & Mac im not sure.
Still, i seem to remember this happening with a lot of versions.
Its one of the most asked problems that support receive, i think it drives them nuts cus its been explained on the forum 100s of times and its also in the FAQ/Knowledge Base but i guess who would think that the icon doesnt update. You just expect it would.
Thanks a million guys. I got the Pro upgrade to go through. I was unable to finish off the DJTT SE mapping, but I think that was probably b/c I was running out of time and on the verge of a minor meltdown. No matter-I had a great set-while the mapping wasn’t 1 to 1, it was pretty easy to locate the basic functions (as i have been doing w/ LE anyway). Thanks again for jumping in w/ the quick responses!
