Good idea! But there is a small catch. There are some softwares that could be running on your pc that could react to this services stopping commands and the shout in the middle of your set, so my advice is to try this a few times before you do this live. Also if you have a different antivirus than Trend and or spam monitor etc you should stop them manually becasuse they will be trying to reach the network constantly and may cause some issues.

What I did was to create a a new partition whith another Xp installed and I simply unistalled every service that was not nessesary (most of the ones in your list) and only installed Traktor plus the needed drivers, which made a very solid build for playing.

Also don´t forget to disable your Wifi nic which may bring some noise into Traktor.

I used this bot all the time on my laptop b4 I moved over to mac. I didnt have a anti virus installed being that it was soley used for music.

That’s verbatim from my guide.

 So I take it you are the creator of the .bat?

Yeah. But it wasn’t meant to be distributed like the OP, because every computer is different. Take a minute to read the guide and learn how to customize your bat file for your system (and not mine :stuck_out_tongue: ).

I found the .bat on NI fourms awhile back.

So, yeah your site had a better explain how to use it. So sorry :disappointed:

No problems at all. I’m glad it’s helping someone!

haha i checked in to late…i already downloaded the .bat and was wondering why nothing works like said (dumbass panda!) haha. no but i´m glad we do own a nem0nic here  to explain how it works. and tadada now i know how it works. big up to you nem0nic!!!

Nem0nic has super powerz !

XP

out of interest does anyone know whether if i created a seperate user account in XP that doesn’t boot up all the extra crap including virus scanners and hardware whether performance would be any difference as i know 1 of the tweaks is to remove user accounts and run it flat?

You can certainly do that - I used to. And it’s easy if you have a dedicated machine. But if your computer is multi-use, having everything turned off all the time can be restricting. Running a batch file like this allows people who use their computers for many things to easily kill the processes that might get in their way.

The benefit of doing a separate “work” user is you can really get in and tweak the shit out of it (using tools like hardware profiles and group policy editor). But I’ve found that many of those tweaks fit in the “diminishing returns” category.
