question about Pioneer RMX units

question about Pioneer RMX units

Can they receive bpm info via the usb connection? Unlike the older EFX units they don’t have 5-pin MIDI ports so I was under the impression that’s been done with usb. But, I have read the manuals and it’s not stated there so I guess it’s not possible after all?

I haven’t had the oportunity to use one so I don’t know how well the auto bpm works but if it’s similar to DJM mixers that’s a no-go for me. :disappointed:

You can’t feed it with a midi-clock over USB (like the on from traktor). It uses automatic beat detection as seen on the Pioneer mixers, but it works a lot better on the RMXs.

Good read on the unit though:Review: Pioneer RMX-500 Effects Unit

no BPM received over USB, however the auto BPM detection is incredibly accurate and miles better than the algorithm used in DJM mixers.

Are new models on the horizon?

I would love to see a more compact model, that’s for sure.

Not sure if they will release a new one as the RMX-500 came out a couple years ago.

I myself have the RMX-1000 app but haven’t used it much while using my DJM-900nxs2. It would be nice to see a revamped model with some new features like the locking effect lever that is on the DJM-S9.
