Question for Ean Golden RE: Remix Mag Photo

Heylo! I was a reader of Remix mag since it first started. I enjoyed following your column, even though it took me so long (just this last couple of months) to finally step into digital DJing and ‘controllerism’. I’m pretty bummed Remix mag isn’t in publication anymore. ANYWAYS I was flipping through some old issues of Remix and ran across a pic from one of your columns…vol 10 #7 July 2008 to be exact…an article about DIY controllers…and the pic shows a black VCI-100 with an arcade button mod … BUT WITH an XLR cable coming out of it?! I guess I’m too NOOB or maybe I missed something on the gear mod forums…but how or what or why is the XLR jack mod used for? Been loving my VCI100 SE. Thanks to you and the DJTT staff. You guys have made this tedious transition much easier.

My guess is its a Midi cable not an XLR and perhaps a VCI-100 beta unit.

It was the footcontroller mod. A footcontroller was added with a XLR connection :slight_smile:

oohhhhh … footcontroller .. now thats something i want on my vci .. hate having to hold that shift button.

yah the vids on youtube I watched it the other night. He uses it to switch between different methods of juggle mode.
