Question for the Vynal Gods

Question for the Vynal Gods

Ive been learning the fundamentals of djing for the last couple months on my k2 (in the military and havnt lived anywhere longer than two weeks for the last couple months). I’m looking into getting into Vinyl when I get back but it seems like everyone is obsessed with the 1200’s that are no longer in production. I would love to get my hands on them but since production has stopped it seems like the price for them is a little outrageous. Anyone who has been around for a while with vinyl know any alternatives or any cheaper way? I’m looking to spend $600-800 for a turntable. Thanks in advance I absolutely love this community :sunglasses:

Hi there, i’m not that expert when it comes to vinyl (still learning too) but if you can secure a very beat up 1200 & knows simple electronic work plus soldering it’s the way to go…of course it’s a lot of work to restore them but it’s worth it…in my opinion.
there’s tons of them at ebay…good luck!

For $800 you can get a pair of 1200s in good - great condition. Just watch craigslist.

Stanton Str8 150’s/St 150’s

I’ve thought about looking for some 1200s on Craig’s list but at the same time I’m new to turntables so I don’t exactly know how to tell if it’s bad or if I’m getting ripped off. I’m the perfect victim lol.

Everyone was once in your boat, just do research. There are youtube videos on it.
