question of samples with maschine
My friend and I were talking about sampling with the maschine and we thought. Would it be possible to sample an (electro house) synth and then using a midi keyboard actually play a melody with the same synth sound but different notes. I understand the limitations of course but i think its a cool idea.

Maybe the OP is thinking about buying Maschine..?
@OP: yeah you can. but note that maschine does not timestretch (yet?). so if you sample a long C-1 note and play a C-3 via MIDI, the resulting sound will be much shorter.
