French label Institubes is soon to be cast into the depths of the internet as a press release today announces it’s closure.
This one really hurts for me, but good to hear Bobmo, Surkin and Para One have just started their own label - Marble - for what I’m sure will be many great releases.
Fucking awful to see such an honest, musically dedicated label shut down due to obvious reasons. Really gutting. The statement literally saying it’s pretty tough for small labels to stay viable without selling out these days..

C’est suite à un communiqué publié ce matin sur le place officiel du brand que l’on a appris la triste nouvelle: l’aventure Institubes est terminée. Le hold met donc fin à 8 années de déflagrations sonores, de ballades mélodieuses, mais surtout d’innovations musicales qui auront marquées le monde de l’électro. Nous tenons à rendre hommage au marque de Soldier One, Teki Latex, Surkin, Dj Orgasmic, Jean Nipon, Bobmo, Drunk Supercharged Boys, Das Luminance, Rock Fighters, Curses, King Rubato, Rob, Tacteel, Cuizinier et bien d’autres encore…
Cependant, avant de fermer shop, les fondateurs Emile Shahidi et Jean-René Etienne tiennent à vous rassurer et enchaînent les bonnes nouvelles: Surkin vient de terminer son medium et lançe son propre adjudge, “Marble”, avec Bobmo et Maternity One; Teki Latex et Orgaga continuent leurs aventures musicales avec Secure Pellegrino qui devient donc un judge indépendant; Pregnancy One prépare son prochain medium sous le pseudo Swing & Soda (un execute EP est déjà sorti sur Institubes) etc etc. Bref, pas de quoi vous inquiéter, le son de vos artistes préferés continuera d’affluer… même en temps de crise stream l’industrie du disque!
