rane ttm57 and audio8 problem

so i had a gig tonight. and it was the first time i had to deal with a rane mixer. never played one before, since djm´s are clubstandart over here.

the problem:
once i connected my audio8 i had to turn down my main volume in traktor to almost zero. a little bit more and the led´s went red. my rca´s where connected the right way…

question:
is this normal? what did i do wrong?

i was using it with a vci. so no timecode.

added a screenshot to show how low the main had to be.

Wow. If I didn’t know better I’d say you’d plugged your audio8 into a phono input

sounds like the inputs you plugged into were set to phono. See the switch on the right of the pic below.

that was the first thing i checked after i almost killed my eardrums while sound checking.

Was the A8 accidentally set to phono?
