I want to spend about $375us max which is about $500nzd

What do you think, I dj with a vci300mk2 and want the stereo to fill a decent sized living/rec room.

any input appreciated

cheers

I find my KRK Rokit 6’s to be great a little over your budget there 200each I think but well worth every penny

i got a pair of krk rp5’s g2 for 400aud a little over but definetly great speakers and work the extra or even the 6’s ^ as stated above but depends on how loud you want it or if you live in an apartment etc etc

i havent used them, but i know their powered, so the op can sell the amp and now the speakers arnt out of budget

behringer monitors or m audio ones are cheaper alternatives but you get what you pay for in most things dj wise

sweet local retailer has them for

rp5 599nzd

rp6 799nzd

will go check them out in the weekend

good luck!

M-Audio BX8a! They are a bit pricey, but well worth the money, I took the advice someone gave me and invested in good monitor speakers, I am grateful that I did just that, besides, many of us end up spending money on other things (such as beer and eating out, lol). Save the money and purchase quality gear, you will not be disappointed.

I would have to disagree with this suggestion. From the research I did when looking for monitors, the BX8a have a super-high return rate and are made with cheap components. A large amount of the returns are because the integrated amp in them blows easily and randomly under normal wear. Save yourself the headache and get a pair of KRK’s, you won’t be disappointed. A little more money upfront will save you a potential hassle down the road…

i would go for some krks as well..
i actually will do it some time soon, since i tested som rp8 at a friends house.
are the rp8’s to overload compared to the 6ers? i spin mostly fidget/dubstep, so i want basssss..
