I have had issues of drop outs and pore connection problems with my firewire interfaces over the months. On the forum I notice some people recommend getting an express card. I am looking for something with probally a firewire and usb on it. Do you think this will solve my loose connection problems on my original laptop? If so what card would you reccomend. Are their certain specs which I have to match?
I use an Echo firewire 2 and Presonous Firebox soundcard. My laptop is a HP Pavillon dv6700 .
im also on an HP dv series (dv4) and I’ve been using this card for just over a year with zero problems. I was running an m-audio firewire audiophile and have since upgraded to the 410 firewire and had zero issues. im running Win 7 64bit.
I dont see any problems with a firewire/usb card in fact looking back i think thats what i should have done. This card can also be powered separate with an additional power supply.
hello,
did any of you guys get the firewire expresscard working with the HP dv6 -7 series?
please let me know
thanks

I dont think anyone did and i hate to sound negative but i think the issue is with the jmicron controller and the fact that the expresscard might be handled by the same controller.
fucking crap shit
Do anyone with a HP dv6 -7 series laptop out there get a firewire express card working with their laptop?
