Reduce keys in Ableton’s Midi Editor!
I’m using Ableton Live 7 Lite and have a problem.
I’m trying to follow a gustavo bravetti tutorial on how to produce a certain sound with Operator.
The only issue is, that I only have a M-Audio Axiom 25 to play that.
His Midi-Editor shows much fewer keys (5 per ocatve) than mine (12 per octave).
How can I reduce the amount of keys per Octave, so I can play it too?
5 keys per octave? what notes are they?
D’oh…he had Fold on.
Me too, but I didn’t understand what it was for.
So the problem changed now:
I have only 25 Keys on the Axiom. I want to play something which starts at B2 and goes up 2 octaves (24 keys).
So the first key needs to be B2, but the best I could achieve so far is that A#2 (the note after B2) is the first one.
That problem is rather related to the keyboard, so how to do it?
Your keyboard should have 2 buttons on it to go up and down the octaves - thats your only solution to having control of 4 octaves on a 2 octave keyboard.
It pays to have a 5 or more octave keyboard when your doing production so you can easily move up and down the octaves as you play without having to press a button to switch octaves.
