Reloop Pots

Reloop Pots

Howzit techtoolers,

I was wondering if any of you ever replaced the EQ pots on a Reloop Digital Jockey… mine packed up many moons ago, but over the weekend got struck by the mood to make a plan and replace them. They’re of the switched type (pressing on the knob), however, I would much rather replace them with the plane old linear (non-switching) type, preferably with centre detent.

I de-soldered a few off the circuit board – they are miniature single gang linear 22k vertically pcb mounted Alpha pots – which seems pretty standard, but no matter where I look to find replacements I couldn’t find any with the same form factor – they’re either too big or not pcb mountable, or the wrong value.

Here’s a list of some the places I already tried (UK):
Maplins, Ebay, Crownhill, Reichelt, Rapid Electronics, Bitsbox, Farnell, RS, TE, all the sites listed on Midibox.org
I also tried Alpha themselves, who bizarrely doesn’t have it.

Here’s some pics:

If anybody tried this before and managed to find reasonable replacements for these pots, or know where I can find some, could you please share some info, I’m totally stumped.

Cheers!

Sorry to resurrect this thread but did you found the actual part number and/or supplier?
Kind regards!

Sorry to have never seen your question until now!

I used Rane Empath/56/57 EQ pots - they’re dual gang, but I simply used the inner pins only (they fit the board perfectly). You can bend the the outer pins up or cut them off.

They’re solid with a centre detent - good Rane quality. I got them through Sennheiser (the only authorised dealers here in the UK - used to be). In the states you can find them at FullCompass.

Sennheiser doesn’t seem to stock the spares anymore, but InstrumentalParts does wordwide shipping (if you happen to live outside the USA).

It’s the Rane 18738, 20KB Tone Pot for Empath/TTM56/57 (they all use the same EQ pots). The 18739 is without centre detent.

They work perfectly. The best bits on my Jockey!
