Renesas Issue
I followed the link in the Directions thread to the dev tool download, I downloaded it but everytime i try to install it i get this msg

In the past I had problems with virus protection software not allowing my fast track pro to work etc, but works when turned off, and this wont let me install even with everything turned off. Any ideas?
Thinking it maybe some random vista thing I tried installing the file i got off limeys link on the directions thread on my Desktop running XP only to recieve

Is that a bad link? Where can I find the correct Download?
You downloaded an upgrade for renesas 4.02 toolkit and not the toolkit itself.
But the 4.02 toolkit link on the Renesas website is broken and doesn’t work, I had to install 4.03 and I think because it is a different version than normally used there is a problem when selecting the com port. Anyone have a copy of renesas 4.02 you can upload to rapidshare or something? Please!
I will look into the renesas links and check out if the correct version is no longer available- if thats the case we can host the correct installer ourselves.
I downloaded this version from their site fdtv403r01 and “alternative download link” for version 4.02 on this site also works.
I ended up with a copy of 4.03 and it worked perfect the first time. Although my USB/9pin cable came with a com port tool on the accompanied DVD.
the link in the steps post and the forum thread is a direct link to 4.02 which has always worked for us.
