Renoise Brethern - Beta 2.6 is Out

Renoise Brethern - Beta 2.6 is Out

2.6 Beta got released today. They opened up the API - the collaborative environment they introduced is going to push this thing over the top as far as DAWs go. Plus it runs on everything (Windows, Mac, Linux).

Some of the new stuff →

  • OSC support (helllooooo TouchOSC!)
  • Lua scripting - the Renoise API is open so everyone can contribute scripts
  • Controller support via Duplex (two-way controller communication = automated faders and LEDs)
  • Custom wave sample generator (use a sample of a song as an oscillator)
  • Sample slicer
  • Timestretch
  • Built-in IRC client (how sick is that for a DAW?)
  • 64-bit Linux support
  • DSSI plug-in support (Linux)

Video demoing Duplex and a Launchpad →

hopefully a piano roll is (finally) in the works… I know it kinda defeats the point of a tracker but I just can’t get my head around using a tracker sequencer.

Great news, hope to get a chance to play with renoise again one day.

Wow I didn’t get ANY of that, new to this, better check the tutorial…but thanks for the info…I guess.

I watched the tutorial, and I just think this is tetris with sound.
