One of the faders in my Denon DN-X1600 is on it’s way out.. when I push the volume all of the way up there is a sudden drop in volume, applying pressure to the top will bring it back, but releasing it will go quieter again.
I need a replacement fader but can’t seem to find what I need, can anyone point me in the right direction?
Preferably in the UK but don’t mind ordering from the US.
If there is any higher quality compatible faders i’d be interested in looking at those.
Have you tried cleaning it? It may not be necessary to replace it. I have written somewhere a good website with replacement denon parts, give me a day or two to find it.
Try cleaning it first. I had a similar issue with mine which turned out to be that the screws holding the fader in place were very loose, every time I pushed the fader the cap would scrape across the face plate and I would loose a little volume.
Just a follow up on this thread. I finally removed the plate from the mixer and had a look at the fader.
It looked pretty solid to me, the fader is only a thin strip being held in by 2 small screws. nothing is loose or anything like that. i tried blowing in the slot but it doesn’t seem to have fixed it.
Any other suggestions or does it look defective?
I can’t seem to find a replacement online, hoping somebody can point me in the right direction?
If you think it’s on it’s way out, take the thing apart and get a look at what the inside of a fader looks like.
It needs to be in pieces to be cleaned anyway.
And, if it does need replacing anyway, it doesn’t matter if you knacker it while taking it apart. But it will be a good learning experience for you either way…
