Replacing the optical drive with a SSD

Replacing the optical drive with a SSD

not sure if in the right section.

I want to swap my optical drive of my macbook pro with a solid state drive
i need information on what exactly i need to buy to make this
i own a early 2011 macbook pro 13

anyone has done this change?
how did it work?
thanks!

I don’t own a Macbook, but I’m sure there’s lots & lots of tutorials on Youtube on what to get & where to put it.

You need to buy an SSD and an MCE optibay caddy. Then follow this guide: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Early 2011 Optical Drive Replacement - iFixit Repair Guide

Install the optibay as if it were a replacement optical drive. Your best option is to backup to an external drive using time machine, replace the hard drive with the SSD then restore the time machine backup to the SSD. Once that’s done, install the old hard drive in the optibay and use disk utility to format it.

Awesome you want regret it!

awesome thanks a lot!
