Rock

Rock

I have been asked to spin between performances at a band night. I’m not much into rock, so I hope you guys can advise me some classics. I want to play some indie, a few classics, and maybe some electronic rock.

I’m thinking of some of the following:

Beatles
Gorillaz
MGMT

I hope you guys can point me into the right direction.

iTunes is your friend and emusic is pretty good on indie stuff. See if there’s any local bands that are similar to the bands playing.

This is a good read on the subject.

Oasis
Kings of Leon
Kasabian
Stereophonics
Ocean Colour Scene
Blur

Freebird!

Duly noted. Good recommendation, that track’s a banger bro. I’m gonna be dropping it this weekend at peak hour for sure.

Classics
Ozzy-Crazy Train
Stephen Wolf- Magic Carpet Ride
Foghat- Slow Ride
Jimmy Hendrix- Purple Haze

Newer
Disturbed- Voices, Enemy
Bush- Machinehead

Tom Petty baby and don’t forget about CCR
The Ramones, Black Flag, Joan Jet have their place as well

Bit of punk always goes down well.

Dead Kennedys - California Uber Alles
Pixies - Debaser
Clash - Rock The Casbah

Maybe even a bit of ska later in the night, Bad Manners, Specials, Madness.

I did the same thing for a whie at a heavy metal club, you can get away with quite a few genre shifts if you keep to the classics.

Well if you want to keep a bit stuff in electro mood, go with Linkin Park, Bomfunk Mc’s - Something going on, Offspring - Pretty Fly, Prodigy…

Specials FTW!!! I’ve been listening to a lot of Uptones lately

there are so many songs to choose from that when i read your post my head actually exploded and so i’m of no use to you now, sorry

good list of songs here so far tho from the looks of it

Acdc
James- Sit Sown
Bloc party (with the right crowd)
Kasabian
Rage against the machine - killing in the name (SebAstians remix is rinse)

Loads more come to mind but its 6am time for me too sleep good luck
