Hi, I recently sold my kontrol S2 via ebay and the provided traktor pro 2 software to someone else. I never registered either to myself. The guy who bought Traktor is not having any problems but the guy who bought the S2 can’t get it to work. Apparently the USB light turns on and the computer recognizes the S2 soundcard option within Traktor but when he chooses, the S2 doesn’t kick on.
I think ultimately he wants to use it as a midi device for another program.
Is it possible that the S2 wont turn on because the traktor registration that was provided with the S2 is already registered to someone else (the guy I sold Traktor to)? Is this some kind of protection scheme that NI uses?
He has uninstalled the drivers and correctly installed them a couple times.
no, not cracked. like I said, traktor came with the S2, which I sold to someone else. he’s trying to use it with virtual dj. I think he’s also tried using it with the demo version of traktor. regardless, shouldn’t it still turn on?
as far as I know, only the USB light comes on, which only indicates it has been plugged in. I don’t think the rest of the lights have come on. Will the rest of the lights not come on unless he has mapped it to VDJ? Not sure if he’s mapped. I’ll ask.
He said that he can see the option to select the S2 as the soundcard. Hopefully this is the solution. Can you confirm that there is no license protection just because I sold the provided traktor prog to someone else? thank you for your help
