S2 Questions?!

So I am going to be going to music production school in Los Angeles, and have decided to also get into live performance more in depth. I have been using traktor for a while now, and just got an s2. Once opening it, and doing the necessary steps in setting it up, I ran into a couple of problems that I hope to be answered/fixed. One, I own a pair of M-Audio BX5a studio monitors and wanted to use my s2 through the monitors. I bought a Monster DJ cable thinking it was necessary to have with my monitors, but turned out they were of no use, because there was no input on the monitors. Anyway, will the Monster cable come in handy down the road, and is there any way of using my M-Audio’s with my s2? I also noticed that not all of the LED lights up on my s2, during use, only some of the LED works, is there a setting in Traktor that can fix this?

Aside from those issues, was just wondering what usual settings get tweaked in Traktor when using a controller such at the s2. Again, love the site, and by the way if you haven’t used Ean’s new s2 mapping yet, I recommend it! Lots of fun! Forums has been great as always

Make sure its plugged into external power, and not just running through the USB power.

No input on the monitors? There’s XLR, and 1/4 inch. Run a 1/4 inch from the s2 to the back of each monitor.

yes I had the power adapter plugged in. To be more specific, lights such as the wet/dry knob lights would not go on when pushed, but in general most of the lighting would not work?

And I am sort of new to the monitor scene when including “cable talk” would the cable I bought have to have a female and male head or what? Can someone possibly direct me to the right type of cable to buy preferably Monster brand? The one I bought foolishly seems to have to male heads..:rage:

The 1/4" (which would be the only one you could use with BX5A’s and an S2) would be male to male.

when I first plugged in I had the same problem and thought my S2 was defective, then I realized that it was amateur hour and that it was because of the stock mapping - mess around with it or try the DJTT mapping which I think if offered for free now.

well I actually have been using the s2 djtt mapping..so now I am unsure what to do

same problem with s2 led wet dry button

hi everybody, i have my s2 since 2 weeks and i have the same problem with the wet dry led, no ligth!!!
can you tell me something about this???
the same problem for the a or b button deck load music. is normal??
