S4 Build Quality
- Handle of the channel fader has an offset.
- Cue mix knob is stuck when trying to turn it clock-wise.
So, any ideas? Where to get genuine part to replace the knob?
S4 Build Quality
considering this thing just dropped, there probably isnt many available parts for it yet. when in doubt check the NI website. the channel fader looks pretty bad and im sure its an annoyance. contact NI and see about getting the unit replaced under warranty if your local store it was purchased from cant do anything about it. thats if you got it from a local store of course… sorry if this isnt helpful, just mere suggestions. best of luck
I’ve got my unit from DJTT, not from the store.
I will try reach NI support. Thanks.
The faders aren’t user replaceable so you’ll have to contact NI.
Parts are not user replaceable at all.
NI has a Service Contingency in place for such issues.
Contact NI support mate.
Hi alexndr,
My S4 has the exact offset problem with the exact same fader channel.
Luckily it doesn’t seem to affect my unit in anyway.
Wow well thats shitty. I just noticed mine has it too. I guess i’ll replace this S4 as well (this is my second one) in about a month or two once they’re hopefully completely defect free :|.
Oh god damn it. I just looked at mine and it’s also the same on the same channel. DAMN YOU FOR POINTING IT OUT!
Is there any chance that all S4’s have this on Channel B?
Frick… I just looked and mine is like that too! WTF? I also had the problem with the headphone knobs (both of them) but I found after I kind of reefed on them to the right, they straightened out. I realize that only people experiencing problems will be the ones writing on forums like this, but there seem to be a LOT of the same problems if you read through the DJTT forum and the NI forums. Way to go, Native Instruments.
Hopefully the next software update will fix it. ![]()
Ahahahahaha. Nice one Moff!
So I have the same offset on my unit but I wonder if it’s worth it returning it to NI when I have no real issues with it to begin with, I only found out about it it after reading this post. That and the fact I wonder if NI can ‘fix’ it as so many people have this issue? It’s probably just an issue many, many others have aswell?

[/quote]Pretty much this.
DAMN YOU!!!
Really, actually. I don’t care. hahahha
design flaw i guess.
DAMN YOU i’m getting one ¬¬
Mine has too but I don’t really care about that. That’s just cosmetic. I’m a lil buzzed spinning right now at a gig (don’t why I’m on DJTT) but anyhow, there is no way that little flaw is going to have any effect on your set. You can’t even see that sh!t while mixing and focusing on everything else. I feel you though. Just the fact that someone pointed it out is kinda bugging me. I’m trying to train my brain not to look at it when I look at my S4. As bad as it sounds I’m glad you guys have the same issue so I don’t feel alone. LOL! If it was just mine I would be even more pissed off.
yeah…mine’s got it too. that’s the problem with being first adopters of a new product.
but still…makes you realise the quality of the 1210s (mine now sold
) that piece of gear was flawless…engineering perfection ![]()
yeah i notced this to, atleast its on both faders and it doesn’t seem to effect performance so im not fussed
My channel b has the offset problem as well ![]()
